Compare Six IP54 LED Bulkhead Models

All six models are IP54 and surface-mounted. Start with the mounting location, available space and supply voltage, then compare the diffuser, colour temperature and control method. Shape alone does not identify the electrical specification: the 18W PIR model uses AC170–265V, the white-diffuser model uses AC165–265V, and the other models listed here use AC110–265V. Confirm the exact version on the quotation and approved sample.

Request the drawing for the shape you intend to order and check mounting clearance before choosing a fixture.

IP44 vs IP54 vs IP65: Which Bulkhead Light Do You Need?

  • IP44: protected against solid objects over 1 mm and splashing water. Typical use: indoor damp areas, subject to the installation requirements.
  • IP54: dust-protected and protected against splashing water from any direction. Typical use: corridors, stairwells, utility rooms, bathrooms outside direct spray and outdoor areas under cover, such as porches, canopies and balconies.
  • IP65: dust-tight and protected against water jets. Consider this level for exposed locations or wash-down areas, with the complete installation specification checked separately.

All six LUXBONTOP bulkhead models on this page are IP54. They are not water-jet or immersion fixtures. For walls exposed to driving rain, hose-down cleaning or car-wash conditions, select an appropriately rated IP65 fixture instead of assuming an IP54 bulkhead is suitable. For bathrooms, ask a qualified electrician to check the required IP rating for the installation zone under local wiring regulations.

Where Are LED Bulkhead Lights Used?

  • Corridors and stairwells: compare surface-mount dimensions and consider the PIR version where intermittent lighting is useful.
  • Building entrances and covered porches: keep the fitting under cover and outside direct water jets.
  • Balconies and canopies: assess exposure to weather before specifying IP54.
  • Bathrooms and utility rooms: check the installation zone, splash exposure and local electrical requirements.
  • Car parks and plant rooms: confirm cleaning methods, dust conditions and the actual mounting location.
  • Apartments, hotels and schools: compare shape, finish and colour temperature for a consistent project specification.

Review our lighting applications alongside the product drawings. An application example helps frame the brief; it does not replace a lighting design, installation assessment or confirmation that a particular model meets a project's requirements.

Bulkhead Light with Motion Sensor

Our 18W IP54 bulkhead light has a built-in PIR motion sensor that switches the light on when someone enters the area. It is commonly used in corridors, stairwells and entrances where lighting does not need to remain on continuously. Round Ø170 × 55 mm and oval 210 × 117 × 55 mm versions are available with black or white housings. Input is AC170–265V, with 3000K, 4000K or 6500K options.

See the 18W PIR bulkhead light and confirm its control behaviour for your installation before ordering. Do not assume that the non-sensor models include motion detection.

OEM/ODM Bulkhead Lights for Wholesalers

For wholesale and OEM/ODM inquiries, send the selected model, destination country, quantity, input voltage, CCT, branding and packaging requirements. Confirm the specification sheet, installation drawing, required certificates and sample approval before agreeing production details. Certification requirements must be checked for the exact model and market; no unverified certification is implied here.

Sample development typically takes about one week after specifications are confirmed. Mass production typically takes 25–30 days after sample approval, depending on the model, quantity and customisation. These are planning figures: request an order-specific schedule before making delivery commitments.

Use our LED bulkhead light OEM/ODM quote checklist to prepare a comparable RFQ and review drawings, samples and order terms. If you need more than one shape or input version, list each separately so the quotation identifies the correct product rather than treating all bulkhead lights as interchangeable.

LED Bulkhead Light FAQ

What is an LED bulkhead light?

A bulkhead light is a sealed, surface-mounted fixture for walls or ceilings. Its enclosed housing and cover provide IP54 dust and splash protection. Confirm the installation location and conditions for each product.

Is a bulkhead light the same as a vapor tight or moisture-proof light?

Moisture-proof refers to protection against moisture. These bulkhead lights are rated IP54 for dust and splash protection; this does not establish a vapor-tight certification.

What protection do these bulkhead lights provide?

These bulkhead lights are rated IP54, providing dust and splash protection. They are not designed for direct water jets or submersion.

What input voltage do they support?

Input depends on the model: the 18W PIR version uses AC170–265V; the 24W white-diffuser model uses AC165–265V; the other four models listed in the comparison use AC110–265V. Confirm the selected version before ordering.

Can you customize CCT, logo and packaging?

Yes. CCT, logo and packaging can be customized for project and private-label orders. The 24W model is available in single-CCT (3000K, 4000K or 6500K) and 3-CCT versions, with optional colored outer-ring lighting.

How long do samples and mass production take?

A typical sample takes about one week after the specification is confirmed, and mass production typically takes 25-30 days after sample approval. Please share your destination market so the required certificates can be confirmed before quotation.

Is an IP54 bulkhead light suitable for outdoor use?

Yes, for outdoor areas under cover, such as porches, canopies and balconies. IP54 provides dust and splash protection. For walls exposed to driving rain or water jets, select an appropriately rated IP65 fixture and check the installation requirements.

Can I use a bulkhead light in a bathroom?

IP54 bulkhead lights can be used in bathroom areas outside direct water spray, subject to the IP rating required for each zone under local wiring regulations. Ask a qualified electrician to confirm suitability before installation.

Do you have a bulkhead light with a motion sensor?

Yes. The 18W IP54 PIR motion-sensor bulkhead light is available in round and oval shapes with black or white housings and AC170–265V input.

What should I include in a bulkhead light quotation request?

Send the model, shape, destination market, quantity, input voltage, colour temperature and any branding or packaging requirements. Ask for the matching specification sheet and drawing, then confirm samples and the order-specific schedule.
